Wedding Photography West Yorkshire

Wedding photography Rogerthorpe Manor - Siobhan and Gareth - 24 September 2010

A very busy weekend with our first of three weddings in three days.  As regular wedding photographers at Rogerthorpe Manor, it's always a pleasure to work there.  Siobhan and Gareth's wedding was a small and intimate celebration with only a handful of very close family and friends in attendance.  We started the day in the bridal suite taking photographs of Siobhan's dress which was very special as it had been handmade by her talented sister, Grace.  We met up with Gareth and his best man for some shots around the grounds of the wedding venue, before heading back up to Siobhan who by now was in her dress and almost ready for the wedding ceremony.  As always, the Pontefract registrars did us and the couple proud, allowing us to photograph the civil ceremony.  A cool and breezy day, it did manage to stay dry so that we could work outside and with the number of guests being small, the "big" group shot didn't take too long to set up!  With the group photography done, we had plenty of time left for photographs of the newly married Mr and Mrs Hughes around the lovely grounds of Rogerthorpe Manor before everyone sat down for dinner around one big table in the Rose Room.  With the nights drawing in now, our evening photographs are getting earlier and we timed it so that the light was just perfect for these, and as it was a bit on the chilly side, we decided to set up before we invited Siobhan and Gareth outside for a few minutes to get some gorgeous shots with the venue lit up in the background.  Think it was worth a few goosebumps guys!  A full moon made an appearance too - what a nice bonus!  Thank you for asking us to capture your special day.

Rogerthorpe Manor Wedding Photographers

Wedding photography at St Cuthbert's Church, Ackworth and Rogerthorpe Manor for Rebecca and Sam on 15 August 2010

It was our pleasure to capture Rebecca and Sam's wedding at the beautiful St Cuthbert's church in Ackworth.  As Pontefract wedding photographers, it was lovely to work there again.

Rebecca's mum, Kay is a photographer and one of Rebecca's brothers teaches photography at college.  No pressure there then!  Seriously, it was such a privilege to be chosen to photograph Rebecca and Sam's wedding and to be trusted so much that Kay was banned from bringing a "proper" camera to her daughter's wedding!

We started the day at Kay and Frank's house where Rebecca and the girls were getting ready.  Rebecca had chosen a stunning princess wedding dress - wow!

We met up with Sam and his brothers for photographs at St Cuthbert's church before the arrival of Rebecca and Sam's cute little son, accompanied by his grandparents.

There was one very special request - please try and get a picture of him in his suit because he probably won't be in it for very  long!

Rebecca had no idea what kind of car would be bringing her to church, because it was a surprise from her mum.  She arrived in a beautiful Beauford, along with brothers, James and Richard, who's privilege it was to give their little sister away.  Their walk up the aisle was accompanied by Sam's brass band mates playing which sounded incredible.  The Rev Roland Taylor, who conducted a lovely ceremony for the couple, generously allowed photography from the front and the back of the church and we got some amazing images!

Following the ceremony, the newly married couple had a few shots taken with close family, followed by some really impressive confetti throwing at the church gate.

On arrival at Rogerthorpe Manor and with perfect weather all day, the rest of the groups were quickly taken care of with the help of Kay, James and Richard and their excellent organising, leaving time for some photographs of Rebecca and Sam together around the hotel grounds.

The gorgeous girls...

Following the wedding breakfast, there were some great speeches, in particular the one from James and Richard in which they told everyone how they used to wind Rebecca up when she was small, including a hilarious story about monkey eggs!!!!!!

Rebecca and Sam were such a pleasure to photograph and Rebecca is a fantastic, bubbly lady who was really enthusiastic about posing for the camera - something she's been used to all her life, having a mum who's a photographer!  It was so enjoyable to create something just a bit different.  She looked amazing!  Hope you like this Beci!

The couple had hired a band called The Solicitors to provide their evening entertainment and shortly before they started performing, Mr and Mrs Fisher took to the floor for their fun first dance.  Thank you for giving us the opportunity to capture your fabulous day.  It was awesome!

Wedding photographer in West Yorkshire

Sarah and Dean's wedding at Rogerthorpe Manor on 28 May 2010

A very busy weekend began with the celebrations of Sarah and Dean on a lovely, sunny day - just the kind of day every bride dreams of for her wedding.

We arrived at Sarah's parents' house in Sandal to document Sarah's preparations and we were greeted by a very relaxed and happy bride.  The perfume bottle says it all!  After getting some great images of Sarah's gorgeous Alfred Angelo gown, shoes and accessories, she got into her dress in good time for us to take some photographs of her and dad before we left for Rogerthorpe Manor to meet Dean.

We were just finishing off the boys' photographs when Sarah arrived, nice and early.

As Sarah and Dean had decided on an intimate wedding attended by close family and friends, the ceremony took place in the Rose Room.  The beautiful ceremony was conducted by Jane Milner from Pontefract register office - a fantastic lady who we are always delighted to see and who never fails to make the ceremony special.

Sarah and Dean are such a lovely couple and they made it clear from the start that they were happy to go along with whatever we suggested for their photographs and that the photographs were very important to them.  They were so relaxed and it was such a pleasure to work with them.

The last shots before we left included this stunning night photograph featuring Rogerthorpe Manor in the background.  Thank you Sarah and Dean for asking us to capture your wonderful wedding day.
