Laura and Alan's wedding at The Bridge Inn, Walshford near Wetherby on 13 February 2010

Our first wedding of the 2010 season and we were really looking forward to the marriage of Laura and Alan at the Bridge Inn, Walshford, near Wetherby, but before meeting Alan there, we spent an enjoying morning with Laura and her bridesmaids as they prepared for the ceremony.  Laura had chosen a gorgeous gown in blush pink and she got into it just in time for us to get some dress fastening shots before we had to leave for Walshford.  A kind and accommodating registrar meant that we were able to capture shots from the front and the back as the ceremony took place and the weather, although cold and breezy, stayed dry just long enough for us to get the main photographs taken, including a big group shot of everyone at the wedding.  After the wedding breakfast and speeches, we spent a short time taking some photographs of the new Mr and Mrs Gray inside the hotel and then we braved the cold for five minutes to get some beautiful evening shots of the couple outside.  Following the cake cutting and bouquet toss, Laura and Alan took to the floor for their first dance and our day ended with Laura dancing with her proud dad, Salvador.  Thank you Laura and Alan for choosing us to capture your day.  We look forward to designing a stunning storybook album for you.

2009 was very hectic for us and very exciting too. We worked with some fantastic people, had a brilliant wedding season, moved house and managed to get a studio up and running too. Not sure how we managed to juggle all this but it's been amazing and the studio means that we can offer our portrait clients a great experience in a warm, friendly and comfortable environment. It's also a lovely environment in which to welcome our wedding clients, show them our images and sample albums and chat about their wedding plans over a cup of coffee or tea.

We are currently offering a portrait session for the incredible price of just £25! This can be a portrait of one person, a couple, a family, the kids, a baby bump, a baby, a pet - you name it! We are happy to take various combinations of family within one session and if you'd like a change of clothes during the session, no problem. Laura and Alan will tie the knot in February at the Bridge Inn in Walshford near Wetherby and we met up with them today to discuss their wedding photography and their plans for their big day. Afterwards, we braved the cold to take some photographs of them together around their venue. This session helped them relax and feel more confident in front of the camera. We are really looking forward to working with them on their wedding day.

Helen and David's wedding at Sprotbrough Church and Hazlewood Castle

Today we photographed our last wedding of the 2009 season for Helen and David at the picturesque church of St Mary's in Sprotbrough. We started the day at Helen's parents' house just a short journey from the church to capture some shots as Helen got ready for the ceremony with her bridesmaids, Lucinda and Gemma, who were great and really took care of Helen. Our next stop was at the church, where we met up with David and his attendants for their photographs. Thankfully, the predicted heavy rain didn't make an appearance - in fact, for December, the weather was pretty good and it meant that we could take the majority of the photographs outside. With no photography allowed by the vicar during the ceremony, we had previously arranged that we'd take Helen and David back inside afterwards so that they could have a few photographs inside the church. With the group photographs of the couple and their parents taken care of, we left for the reception at Hazlewood Castle where we made the most of the fading daylight for photographs around the venue. Our last shots were of the Great Hall dressed up ready for the wedding breakfast and photographs of Helen and David cutting the cake. With an unusually early finish to our coverage, we said goodbye to our lovely couple and to our 2009 wedding season. Thank you for choosing us to share your special day.

We were delighted to receive this today from Caroline Mason's mum, Enid. We were privileged to be chosen to share Caroline and Gary's special day in May when they married at Hunslet Methodist church in Leeds, followed by a reception at Rogerthorpe Manor in Badsworth. They chose a storybook album and Caroline's mum bought a smaller copy for herself. Enid's comments sum up perfectly what we are about and how important our clients are to us.

Nathalie and John's wedding at Monk Fryston Hall on 19 September 2009

We had a fabulous day in the company of Nathalie and John and their lovely families and friends in the beautiful surroundings of Monk Fryston Hall. The couple tied the knot in a touching and very personal civil ceremony and they couldn't have wished for better weather for their celebrations afterwards! We joined Nathalie for her preparations first and we really enjoyed photographing her fabulous dress and accessories, including some stunning silver shoes with very high heels! Next we joined John and his attendants (there were a lot of you guys but you were great sports and such good fun) for their photographs around the grounds before returning to Nathalie for her final preparations and finishing touches before the ceremony - she looked amazing! With quite a few group shots to get through, we still had enough time left for a few photographs of Nathalie and John together and some fun shots with Nathalie and her bridesmaids before going inside to take shots of the wedding breakfast room and the cake. After dinner and the speeches, the couple spent some time with us so that we could take some gorgeous, creative photographs in their bridal suite before going outside for some romantic night shots outside the venue. Thank you to you both for choosing us to be part of your very special day - it was a privilege to share it with you.

Wedding Photographer Holdsworth House, Halifax

Martiza and Phil's wedding at Holdsworth House, Halifax on 11 September 2009

Maritza and Phil married at Holdsworth House in Halifax on a beautiful sunny day. Guys you were so lucky with the weather (even if it was a bit too sunny from a photographer's point of view!) This pretty little venue is so full of character, the staff are great and the grounds are really lovely, giving us some wonderful backdrops for the couple's photographs. Before the wedding, we were let into a secret regarding the colour scheme. Although Phil knew it was red and white, he never suspected that the red in the colour scheme included Maritza's gorgeous gown! Maritza and Phil work for the BBC and so does Maritza's make-up artist Jill, who did such a fantastic job. After stepping into that fabulous dress, Maritza looked amazing! Phil's first word to her as she joined him for the ceremony was "Wow!" After the ceremony and with the group photographs in the can, our lovely bride gave us a twirl resulting in some spectacular shots. After dinner and speeches, the couple joined us outside to make the most of the early evening light which by now was a little softer and more flattering. Phil's passion (apart from Maritza, of course) is fast cars and we had a some fun featuring his Lotus in the photographs. Maritza was a lot of fun and up for some fashion posing and although we usually prefer not to have to use umbrellas, in this case we were really enthusiastic about using our stunning red one to create some beautiful, artistic images for her. Thank you so much Maritza and Phil for choosing us as your wedding photographers. We consider it such a privilege, you are a lovely couple and we had a brilliant day with you. Enjoy America!

Victoria and Andrew's wedding at Barwick in Elmet Church, Leeds and Hazlewood Castle on 4 September 2009

Our day started at Vicky's parents' house without Vicky, who was still at the hairdressers. Her beautiful gown and bouquet of the most gorgeous orchids resulted in some lovely images which we're sure she will treasure. After make-up and fastening the dress shots, we left for the church, arriving right on schedule, but there was no sign of Andrew and the guys as they were all getting some Dutch courage in the nearby Black Swan! Rain heralded Vicky's arrival with her dad, Roger and it continued throughout the ceremony so we decided to get the close family group photographs taken inside the church. Afterwards, there was a hasty exit from the church to the car and on to the reception venue but not without one arty shot of Vicky - even the rain wasn't going to prevent that! At Hazlewood Castle, the rain had eased a bit and we managed to secure some romantic images of Vicky and Andrew in the grounds before going inside to photograph the Great Hall set up for the wedding breakfast. After dinner and speeches, we were lucky that the rain had stopped and we were able to get everyone outside and on to the steps to take the big group shot which the couple really wanted, plus a shot of each side of the family. Making the most of the remaining daylight, the bridal party got into the spirit of the occasion for some fun shots - thanks guys, you were great sports! Back inside, Vicky and Andrew cut the cake and then went into their first dance to Jack Johnson. A perfect end to their perfect day was a fabulous firework display and some spectacular images. Thank you Vicky and Andrew for inviting us to share your wonderful day. Have a fabulous honeymoon!

Claire and Adriaan's wedding at St John's church, Warley and the Holiday Inn, Clifton - 18 July 2009

Today Claire and Adriaan married at St John's church in Warley, Halifax. Their ceremony was made all the more special as Claire's dad, Stephen is a vicar and it was his privilege to marry his beautiful daughter, Claire to her lovely groom, Ady. Claire's mum, Susan accompanied her to the church and then handed over to dad, Stephen to do the honours. To share this day was very special for us too, as we photographed Ady's brother Stevan's wedding just over two years ago. It was great to see some familiar faces! We are privileged to be asked to share a wedding day but to be asked to share a sibling's wedding too is very humbling. After completing the family group photographs inside the church, we left for the Holiday Inn in Clifton near Brighouse for the reception. After dinner and a hilarious speech from Ady's other brother, Kristiaan, who flew over from the United States to share the best man's responsibilities with Stevan, it was outside for some fun shots with Claire, Ady and their attendants who were great fun and really up for a laugh. We followed these with some romantic shots of the couple together. We would like to thank you both for inviting us to share your special day and we hope that you are enjoying a fabulous honeymoon.

Sharon & Kelvin's wedding at the King's Croft Hotel - 17 July 2009

Sharon and Kelvin married at the King's Croft Hotel in Pontefract on a very rainy Friday. However, the weather didn't dampen anyone's spirits and although we were forced to stay indoors for most of the day, everyone had a fantastic time. After the ceremony, the couple celebrated with their family and friends and following the wedding breakfast and speeches, we spent some time in the bridal suite taking a few romantic photographs of Sharon and Kelvin together. In the evening, Sharon surprised Kelvin with a casino which went down a treat with the adult guests. Thank you Sharon and Kelvin for inviting us to share your special day.

Rebecca and Philip's wedding at the Marriott Hotel, York - 21 March 2009

Rebecca and Philip married in a civil ceremony at The Marriott Hotel in York. A lovely, relaxed and fun atmosphere surrounded the whole wedding. The hotel has recently been re-decorated in a stunning red colour scheme which just had to be featured in the images. A painting on the wall and a piano with a reflective surface suggested a creative, romantic image of the couple. Angie and Simon's wedding at Hazlewood Castle - 14 March 2009

Angie and Simon married in a small civil ceremony at Hazlewood Castle, followed by a blessing in St Leonard's chapel which was conducted by the Rev Ian Walton. We love working with Ian because as well as being very kind and having a great sense of humour, he encourages us to capture the memories of the ceremony so that the couple can enjoy reliving them as part of their wedding album for the rest of their lives. On behalf on Angie and Simon, thank you Ian. Although it was a cold and windy day, the rain stayed away and we were able to use some of the castle's stunning back drops for Angie and Simon's photographs. During the early evening, Angie and Simon braved the cold again for some lovely night shots taken in the courtyard.

Claire and Neil's wedding at the Woodlands Hotel, Gildersome - 21 February 2009

Claire and Neil were married at The Woodlands Hotel in Gildersome, Leeds. Although is was cool and breezy, the rain stayed away and a fantastic day was had by everyone. The Woodlands Hotel has a stunning canvas on one of the walls which made an amazing backdrop for some beautiful, romantic images of the newlyweds. Thank you Claire and Neil for choosing us as your photographers and for your kind comments which sum up what we are about much better than we ever could.
