As portrait photographers in Castleford, it was really nice to hear from Todd and his girlfriend Dominique when they enquired about a family portrait sitting as a surprise Christmas present for Todd's parents.  Apparently, this lovely close family have photographs taken together regularly but this is the first time they have visited a photography studio and had a professional family portrait session.  Todd and Dominique booked the portrait session for straight after Christmas and it was a pleasure to welcome the six brothers and one sister, Leah, the youngest member of the family, to the studio.  They were all a joy to work with and we really enjoyed the time we spent with them all.  Here are a couple of photographs from the session, including mum Roberta's favourite.

Sarah and Tom's engagement portrait session

It was lovely to welcome Sarah and Tom to the studio for a very enjoyable engagement portrait session ahead of their wedding at Walton Hall in July when we will have the privilege of being their wedding photographers.

We were delighted when we got a call from Sarah asking if we were available on her wedding date, as we had been recommend to her.  After Sarah and Tom booked us to photograph their wedding, Sarah then recommended us to her close friend Emma, one of her bridesmaids, who also booked us to photograph her wedding when she marries Carl at Oulton Hall near Leeds in August. 

Recently, Emma rang us to ask if she could book an appointment for Sarah and Tom to come to the studio for an engagement portrait session.  As a wedding gift, she wanted to buy them a framed engagement portrait with a signature mount for Sarah and Tom's guests to sign on the wedding day.  We were very happy to oblige as this will make a really personal memento of the day and it also allowed the couple to relax in front of the camera and to enjoy being photographed.

We had a brilliant time with Sarah and Tom.  They were fantastic to work with and this is the image they chose.  We look forward so much to their wedding day and to being their wedding photographers.

Sophie

We've had the pleasure of photographing stunning Sophie since she was a baby and because she's so used to the camera, she's always an absolute delight to photograph.  During this latest session, we created several different styles of image, including some using coloured gels and a wind machine.  This spring, Sophie turns thirteen years' old and for her birthday, she will be receive a gorgeous portrait book featuring a selection of her images.  This will be something which she can treasure throughout her life.  Alex has designed this especially for her and it's just amazing!  It really does make such a difference when a photographer creates his own unique designs and this sets him apart from the competition.  Alex's portrait books and wedding storybooks are truly beautiful and truly unique.  Here are a couple of double page spreads from Sophie's portrait book.  If you are interested in a portrait session and in having your own portrait book created, we would love to hear from you.

Family Portrait Photographers in West Yorkshire

Kirsty, Wayne, Warren and Braydon

This lovely family came in for a portrait session in early January and we've delayed posting this because the photographs were to be a surprise gift for Kirsty, Wayne and Warren's mum and Braydon's gran, Christine, for her birthday this summer.  The family were fantastic to work with and the session was so relaxed and such good fun.  Everything had to be conducted in secret, right up to the point when Warren collected their stunning multi print frame from us.  As its size meant that it would be pretty difficult to hide, it was presented to Christine early.  She rang us today to tell us how much she loves it and how relaxed and happy her family look in the photographs.  She's over the moon and we are too!  It's easy to see why we love our job so much - it's because of our wonderful clients!

2009 was very hectic for us and very exciting too. We worked with some fantastic people, had a brilliant wedding season, moved house and managed to get a studio up and running too. Carole, Dan and Scarlett

Carole and Dan recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary and we were their wedding photographers when they tied the knot at Hazlewood Castle on 7 December 2008. Today they came for a portrait session, bringing along their beautiful baby Scarlett, and what a stunner she is! Scarlett is one of the most cheerful babies we've ever met! Carole and Dan were a fabulous couple to work with when we photographed their wedding and seeing them again today was like meeting up with old friends. We were delighted to see Dawn and Neil again - this time with their gorgeous baby daughter, Olivia. They decided to bring along Olivia's grandma as apparently Olivia thinks she's very funny and she would find it easy to get Olivia to smile! However, we didn't need anyone to make Olivia smile, as she obliged anyway. A great session with a beautiful little girl - she was a pleasure to photograph!

Children's Portrait Photographers in West Yorkshire

A busy pre-Christmas portrait season continued with a photo session for Oliver and sisters Mia and Lyla. The challenge was to get a photograph of all three children together for their grandparents for Christmas. The family were fantastic to work with and we had lots of laughs trying to pursuade Oliver to stay in the group shots long enough to capture him with his cousins.

Sarah, Danny, Chelsea and Lewis

We are really enjoying taking photographs of our existing clients and many new ones too so that they can present the images to their families for Christmas and we are being kept very busy in the run up to Christmas as people realise what a fantastic and personal gift a beautiful framed print will make for someone they love. Today we welcomed Sarah and Danny with their children Chelsea and Lewis. Sarah and Danny wanted the children photographed together as a Christmas gift for their grandparents and we got some great shots of Chelsea and Lewis together as well as some individual ones. We think their grandparents will be delighted! In addition, mum and dad had a couple of shots taken together too. We really like this one - what do you think, Sarah and Dan?

Nik, Vicki, Sophie and Jake

We had a very enjoyable time today at the Theatre Royal Wakefield in the company of young actors Nik, Vicki, Sophie and Jake, taking some headshots for each of them. The theatre is actively supporting and encouraging young talent and they asked us to come along and take a variety of shots so that these very talented young people will have some professionally taken photographs as a start to their portfolios. They were all great to work with and we were delighted with the results we got. Hope you like the shots guys!

Yorkshire Family Portrait Photographer

Today we made a round trip of 123 miles to Litton in the Yorkshire Dales for a family portrait session for 17 lovely people. It was a very long way to travel for a portrait sesssion but Kate hired us quite a while ago to do this, as a special gift for her parents' ruby wedding anniversary. The family hired a cottage in this spectacular location for a week and they thought that as they don't all get together very often, being spread all over the country from Wales to Southampton to Yorkshire, it would be great to take the opportunity to have some photographs taken together. We were privileged that Kate chose us to do this and we'd arranged to work outside if the weather was kind, which is wasn't! Driving along the winding roads through a mixture of drizzle and fog, it wasn't looking good for photographs outside but we kept our fingers crossed for a break in the weather. By the time we arrived at the cottage, it was still very wet underfoot but it had at least stopped raining and we really wanted to make the most of the beautiful backdrop outside. Everyone was brilliant, adults and children alike and got their coats, boots and wellies on to trudge through the wet grass to the spot we'd chosen. After taking some big family group shots of everyone, we took the smaller groups which the family had requested before heading back to the cottage for coffee and the most delicious homemade cake! Thank you for making us very welcome. We really enjoyed your company. It was well worth the long journey and the wet feet! We hope you enjoyed it too.
