Wedding Photographer West Yorkshire - Thank You Cards

It was so lovely to receive two thank you cards from delighted couples last week, one of them accompanied by a stunning bouquet of flowers.  We really appreciate it when our amazing brides and grooms (and a bride's mum and dad), take the time to express their thanks because after all, we are just doing the job we love!

The first card came from Natalie's mum and dad, Jude and Dave.  We photographed Natalie and Chris's wedding at St Luke's church in Sharlton back in September.

"Dear Janet and Alex, thank you so much for taking Natalie and Chris's wedding photographs.  It certainly took the stress away knowing that we were in safe hands.  Can't wait to see the finished album.  We are sure it will be amazing and a wonderful memento of a truly BEAUTIFUL DAY!!!  Thank you so much."

The second came from Chloe and Sam who's December wedding day included a deep covering of snow.  They married in Birkenshaw, Bradford and celebrated afterwards at Wentbridge House Hotel.

"Thank you for making our wedding day so perfect by taking the most amazing photos.  We are both so happy with them especially the snow ones which are fantastic.  You were both brilliant on the day and helped everything run smoothly.  It was the perfect Christmas winter wedding with snow on top and we now have great photos to remember just how amazing it really was."

Wedding photography at St Luke's church, Sharlston and the New Wheatsheaf, Whitwood for Natalie and Chris on 4 September 2010

Natalie and Chris's wedding day was one of perfect weather and understated elegance.  It was a privilege to be asked to capture their celebrations, not least of all because Natalie's dad, Dave, was a wedding photographer in Wales in another life and we knew how much of a compliment it was for him to trust us with photographing his beautiful daughter's wedding.

Our first stop was at Dave and Jude, Natalie's mum and dad's house where we got to work on photographing Natalie's lovely, elegant wedding gown and her accessories, including something else Chris didn't know about - a pair of striking red satin shoes.  Natalie made us laugh because she said that she had been trying to wear the shoes in a bit to make them more comfortable before the wedding but because Chris didn't know about them, she kept sending him out whilst she wore them around the house, including while she did the ironing!  Natalie was determined to be ready before we left so that she could have photographs with her mum and dad and also with one other member of the family - Cari!

Leaving Natalie to her finishing touches, we met up with the boys at the church to capture their pictures before the ceremony.  As Wakefield wedding photographers, we have worked at St Luke's church before and it was nice to be back. 

With permission from the vicar to photograph the ceremony from the front and the back, we got some brilliant images as the couple exchanged vows.  Natalie's expression throughout the ceremony was one of pure joy and just beautiful to watch and to capture. 

To give the couple more variety in their images, we had arranged for them to join us at Queen's Park in Castleford for their pictures together after the ceremony.

After spending some time getting some relaxed photographs of Natalie and Chris together, we headed off for the New Wheatsheaf and shots of the red London bus which had transported the guests from the church.

With confetti throwing and group shots taken care of, it was time for some laughter with the bridal party.

Dave had already briefed us to watch out for Jude's expressions when he started his speech, as he had two versions of it - one which they had worked on together and which Jude had vetted - and another one...  The plan was that he would tear up the original and read from the second one.  Jude's face was a picture!

After a delicious meal which the family very generously invited us to, it was outside for a few minutes to make the most of the last of the late summer daylight before Natalie and Chris were asked to take to the floor for their first dance.

Our sincere congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs Hughes and our thanks to Dave and Jude for allowing us to capture this very special day.  It was wonderful to join you all and we've really enjoyed getting to know you during the run up to the wedding.

Wedding photography at Waterton Park and Walton Hall for Sarah and Thomas on 3 July 2010

It was a pleasure and a privilege to be invited to capture the wedding celebrations of Sarah as she married Tom in a civil ceremony at Waterton Park, followed by a reception over the bridge at Walton Hall.  We'd really been looking forward to their big day!

Arriving at Waterton Park early, we were greeted by our beautiful bubbly bride and a couple of other familiar faces - bridesmaid Emma, who is getting married next month and bridesmaid Katherine, who very kindly recommended us to Sarah.  Sarah and Emma have been planning their weddings together, sharing ideas and visiting wedding fairs, stopping off to see us on more than one occasion.  Seeing their happy, smiling faces and chatting about their plans has been wonderful.

So, there was a lot of activity as well as a lot of laughter in the room as the girls got ready.  Sarah had treated herself to some very special shoes - wow!  They were something of a talking point amongst the female guests!

 

We were let into a secret.  Sarah had a bit of a surprise up her sleeve for Tom - she'd hired special car and a lady chauffeur so that Tom could arrive in style.

After completing the photographs of the boys, we returned to Sarah where we captured a few shots as her gorgeous dress was laced up, before she made her way downstairs on the arm of proud grandad, Billy, who accompanied her up the aisle to join her husband to be.

After the ceremony and confetti, everyone made the short journey over the bridge to enjoy the drinks reception whilst we completed the group photographs.

After the wedding breakfast and speeches, the bridal party joined us outside for some fun.  Guys, you were stars!

We were really looking forward to working with Sarah and Tom to create some special images for them after the wedding breakfast and it has to be said, they were an absolute joy to work with.  Sarah's beautiful smile shone all day and the couple's happy personalities and enthusiasm for their photographs was infectious. We loved the time we spent with them.

It was still daylight when the new Mr and Mrs Cass took to the dance floor.  A fantastic day, a lovely venue and the most amazing couple who are just made for eachother.  Thank you so much Sarah and Tom for giving us the opportunity to capture your special day.

It was lovely to welcome Sarah and Tom to the studio for a very enjoyable engagement portrait session ahead of their wedding at Walton Hall in July when we will have the privilege of being their wedding photographers.

We were delighted when we got a call from Sarah asking if we were available on her wedding date, as we had been recommend to her.  After Sarah and Tom booked us to photograph their wedding, Sarah then recommended us to her close friend Emma, one of her bridesmaids, who also booked us to photograph her wedding when she marries Carl at Oulton Hall near Leeds in August. 

Recently, Emma rang us to ask if she could book an appointment for Sarah and Tom to come to the studio for an engagement portrait session.  As a wedding gift, she wanted to buy them a framed engagement portrait with a signature mount for Sarah and Tom's guests to sign on the wedding day.  We were very happy to oblige as this will make a really personal memento of the day and it also allowed the couple to relax in front of the camera and to enjoy being photographed.

We had a brilliant time with Sarah and Tom.  They were fantastic to work with and this is the image they chose.  We look forward so much to their wedding day and to being their wedding photographers.
